October 7, 2009:

It’s been over four months since I posted to this page.  While I have been thinking about writing throughout that time, I have actually done very little.  Just today I picked up a story I’d drafted in July and began to edit it based on feedback I had from some wonderful beta-readers plus feelings of my own about the re-write.  I did not finish but at least I am started again.  I’ve decided to add a category to this blog that will be my whenever journal space and there I will post “whenever” and “whatever” I happen to be thinking about at the time.   Come over if you like.

For probably the first time in my life I have the resources to seriously write a novel or two. One is a science fiction novel – the first in the “100,000 Days Series” called “The Next Solar Month“, and the other is a teenage-to-young adult fantasy ”The Red Tree“. I have set up a Page in this blog for each of these.   I plan to use this blogspace for researching information for my historical fiction, fantasy and science fiction novels.

My poetry, lyrics and short stories over the years is being posted at FictionPress.com and FanFiction.net.   As items are uploaded to either of those sites I will make an announcement via

and
Jl Peterson's Facebook Profile

Thanks for stopping by,

JL Peterson

  1. Hi, I have just done a similiar thing for a sci-fi novel. It would be great if you have any recommendations RE publishers who take first time writers. I have only managed to find MacMillan New writers at present.

Feel free to check out the blog starmaniacs1

    • Nick,
I think you might be a lot farther along in the process than I am. If I do have any recommendations re publishers I will be glad to post that information here.
      Thanks!

I originally posted this comment on May 17 or 18 but accidentally not as a reply to your original comment. I’m afraid you may not have seen it so I just redid it as a reply. I’ve since joined LinkedIn – there are some writers and publishing groups there. Also check my posting here under the “Writing & Publishing” Category also. Good luck!

  2. Hi ,
I look forward to reading your work :) I will check back often for updates and to give some feedback.

    • Thanks. I expect to update frequently! Enjoy,
      JL
