I am thinking about where our descendants will be and what they will be doing in 100,000 days – that’s about 274 years. That’s really too far off for my brain to grasp right now so I am going to take that journey in smaller steps in increments of about 30 years each. I’ll call each 30 years on Earth a Solar Month. With that logic I will refer to the period from 2010 to 2040 AD as “The Next Solar Month“.

As Fortuna would have it, the realization dawned on me recently that “100,000 Days” is actually an apt title for a series that encompasses both my science fiction novels and my historical fantasy novels. How is that possible? I think it goes like this: my science fiction begins with the highly probably future around 2040 AD looks forward about 100,000 Days while my historical fantasy begins around 2000 AD and looks back about 100,000 Days. This idea ties to another storyline I was working on several years back that I called “The Year Zero +/- 2,000″ all about time travel within the realm of life on Earth from 2000 BC through 2000 AD. It is fascinating to see what appeared to be unrelated thoughts from years ago coming together at this particular time in my life.
